Transport to the airports

Paris is well served by its urban transport networks grouped together in the RATP: Buses, the Metro and the RER (Regional Express Network). A map of urban transport routes can be obtained in metro stations.

Metro: its 15 lines cover the whole capital and the inner suburbs from 05:30 to 0:30.

RER: outer suburbs and to cross Paris (15 minutes). There are currently 4 lines running from 05:30 to 0:30.

Bus: more complicated to follow, but lets you see the city. They run from 07:00 to 20:30. There is a service from 20:00 to 0:30 on some lines.

NOCTAMBUS is a night bus service running from 01:00 to 05:30 7 days a week, with a frequency of one bus an hour. This network has 18 lines running within a 30-km radius of Paris. A special ticket costing 1.40 € is needed for these buses.
Tickets are valid for just one journey. They are sold individually or by books of 10.

Means of transport and prices:

Throughout the metro, in Paris and in the suburbs, and on the RER, within the limits of the City of Paris, the cost of the ticket does not depend on the length of the journey. One single "section urbaine " ticket allows you to travel freely on the different metro and RER lines. On the RER, the urban section includes all the stations located within Paris.
Price of tickets:1,40 € each, 10,70 € a book of 10 tickets

For the RER, in the suburbs, beyond the limits of the City of Paris, and for the Transilien SNCF network, the price depends on the length of the journey and on the class chosen. Depending on the station of departure and on the distance to be travelled, it is possible to buy:

  • Tickets valid between two specific stations of the RER or of the Transilien SNCF network.
  • Tickets allowing journeys between, on the one hand, any RER or SNCF station in Paris or any metro station and, on the other hand, specific stations of the RER or of the SNCF in the suburbs.
  • Tickets for journeys between two RER or Transilien SNCF network stations, including a journey by metro or RER in Paris.

Both in Paris and in the suburbs a single ticket is now sufficient for a journey without connections on any bus or tram line, with the exception of the following lines:

  • Orlybus (5,80 €), Roissybus (8,40 €), Noctambus (1,40 €).
  • Lines 221, 297, 299, 350, 351 and Balabus:
    1 ticket for 1 to 3 sections
    2 tickets for 4 to 6 sections
    3 tickets for more

On the PC line, now divided into 3 arcs, a single ticket is enough to travel over the whole of one of the arcs (without connections).

For Orlyval (Antony-Aéroport d'Orly link + RER journey line B), a specific ticket is sold in metro stations, RER and SNCF Ile-de-France stations, and at the RATP ticket offices in the Orly air terminals.

Child (from 4 to 10 years)
Orly <-> Antony

For the Montmartre funicular, one ticket allows you to do a one-way trip (up or down), without connections with the metro or bus.

Public transport pass:

Depending on the length of your stay, RATP proposes passes valid for all three means of transport in accordance with the number of zones of validity. These zones are in the form of concentric circles around Paris.

CARTE ORANGE:

This card allows you to use all the public transport of the Ile de France, within a perimeter determined at the time of buying it (number of zones), without any limit to the number of journeys.
This season ticket consists of a named pass and of a (weekly or monthly) coupon.
Weekly rates: from 15,70 € ( 1-2 zones) to 42,70 € (1-8 zones).
Monthly rates: from 51,50 € ( 1-2 zones) to 139,90 € (1-8 zones).

MOBILIS :

One day of unlimited RATP and SNCF Île de France transport (except for airports) within Paris and its inner suburbs. Prices: 2 zones 5,40 €; 5 zones 12,10 €; 8 zones 18,40 €

It allows you to travel as often as you please on all the means of transport: metro, RER, bus, tram, Montmartre funicular, Montmartrobus, Noctambus, suburban trains, ADATRIF and APTR bus, in the zones chosen (from 1-3 to 1-8).
